Nothing like starting the year off with some fresh blog posts! I will try my best this year to to post bi-weekly. Lets get started.
This first 2023 blog post is all about Why you really should be printing your photos after you have downloaded them from me or any other photographer for that matter.
In the digital age, it's easy to take photographs and store them on your computer or phone, but it's important to remember the value of physical prints. Here are a few reasons why photography clients should consider printing their images:
-
Preservation: Digital files can become corrupted or lost due to technology failures or accidents. Printed photographs, on the other hand, are tangible and can last for generations with proper care. Make sure prints you have ordered are UV coated and/or mounted on a backing. This helps them last. Keeping them away from any moisture and direct sunlight is even better.
-
Appreciation: A printed photograph hanging on a wall or sitting on a bookshelf is a constant reminder of a special moment or memory. It's much more meaningful and impactful than a digital file hidden away on a hard drive. Be proud of your images and shit, show them off!!
-
Display Options: Printed photographs can be framed and hung on a wall, placed in a photo album, or even made into a photo book. This allows for creative display options and the ability to physically show off the photographs to friends and family.
-
Emotional Impact: Holding a physical print in your hand can evoke stronger emotions than viewing a digital image on a screen. The emotional impact of a photograph is often tied to the physical print and the memories it holds. This includes albums, Wall Arts and smaller prints.
-
Professional Look: Photographs printed by professional photographers and print labs often have a level of color accuracy, sharpness, and depth that can't be matched by consumer printers. I'll only say this once, DO NOT print anything you get from me at Walgreens, Sams, Walmart, Costco or any office store! If you must print on your own please ask for professional quality consumer options.
All I ask is that as a photography client, consider printing your photographs for long-term enjoyment and preservation.
Can't wait to add something special to your home. Or ask your local photographer for the best options as well.
