Fashion Friday Story- Thankful!

Hey lovelies!

This fashion Friday story is special one. It’s November and Fall is in full force.  This month is all about being thankful and so much more. There is no doubt that the thing I am most thankful for is my family. Here is my story:

My husband and I met at a track meet in college. Both of us long time athletes at the top of our game. We had ups and down of course and I won’t go too deep into all that because things are better getting over and moving on you know? Anyways, We got married in a small Catholic church in 2003. Both our sisters had kids with twins on the way so it was time for us to think family.

“We began our family journey in late 2004 with no luck time after time. It was quite heart wrenching to count days, follow cycles, take tests and get negative each time. We knew nothing about having babies obviously so I found a doctor that I trusted with all my heart and asked what the hell was wrong? I was a healthy 23 year old in great shape, regular cycles each month and nothing was working. We decided further testing needed to be done and found that I had underdeveloped Fallopian tubes. Most likely due to being an athlete and putting stress on my body. Now, I would never change being an athlete. That was a very important part of my life for sure. The only fix to this issue was to get pregnant by IVF (In vitro fertilization) lots of shots, blood draws, ultrasounds, extractions, implantation’s and trying to stay stress free had worked! We had done one transfer and were successfully pregnant. Again I won’t go too far into details, but Annastasia is out first born. Almost a twin until about 13 weeks. It’s ok though. Focus on the positive. two year later we were prepping for another baby, this time it happened on its own. Once again to have heartbreak. A chromosome imbalance cause a second miscarriage, but it’s ok. We stayed positive and worked through the heartache like bosses. In 2009 George came along naturally then Kaeden in 2011. Can you believe that the process of IVF partially fixed  my issue. So amazing how these things work.”

“I could not be more thankful for the process of IVF, I could not be more thankful that God felt I was worthy enough to have more children and on my own. I could not be more grateful for my husband who time after time comforted me during hard times, gave me every single shot, and got up each time for a crying baby in the middle of the night now matter how early he had to get up. He’s an absolute keeper. I don’t know at this point in my life is more kids are in the plan. I’m now 35, in a great place in my work life and our life is good. It truly is.”

This Fashion Friday story t shirt is incredible. It says what we feel. I chose the white with copper writing this time. This wall holds about 60 photo frames that I gathered from local thrift shops, painted, printed photos and hung in our old home then moved here. I’ll be adding more next week after we take new photos. Yes that one frame is cracked. Life with kids, LOL!
